Definition


   Interpretation: Visible light is a transverse wave, its vibration direction perpendicular to the propagation direction. The vibration direction of natural light is arbitrary in the vertical propagation plane; the direction of vibration in a certain moment, are limited in a particular direction.

Function

    There are too many light sources generate harmful rays in our daily life, especially sunlight; Sunlight includes: Visible light(310-780nm), infrared and ultraviolet ray, etc. Ultraviolet cause serious damage to human body skin, eyes etc. Ultraviolet ray divided into UVA, UVB, UVC(310nm), they are harmful rays, and will cause damage to the body if long time exposure, UVB has a serious effect on vision, tanning ray is the light which will burning our skin, most of the canthus absorbs the UVB light, must be isolated. Polarized sunglasses have the function of polarization so that all the harmful rays will be isolated, just visible light can be through, truly achieve the purpose of protecting our eyes; polarized sunglasses also have the function of anti glare, suitable for driving, fishing, travel, and daily wear.

Theory


   

   Polarized sunglasses can block uncomfortable glare, at the same time can protect your eyes from UV rays. All of this is due to metal powder filters, they can make a choice when light hits. Polarized sunglasses can selectively absorb the sun’s rays with the aid of the very thin metal powder (iron, copper, nickel, etc.). In fact, when the light through the lenses, based on the so-called "destructive interference" process, the light will be reduced. In other words, when certain wavelengths of light (here refers to the uva, uvb rays, and sometimes infrared) through the lens, the light inside the eye direction, they will cancel each other out. Formation of waves is not an accidental phenomenon: a wave crest with the near wave, leads to cancel each other out. Destructive interference phenomenon depends on the lens refractive index (i.e., the degree of deviation when light through different material), also depends on the thickness of the lens. Polarized sunglasses offer another eye protection mechanism. The asphalt reflected light is a special polarized light. Again in the case of light from the darkness, the crystals reform, the lens then return to the bright state.
